Dorene Kedney Biography
Dorene was born in Illinois and later moved with her family to Kansas City. At age thirteen, Dorene picked up a guitar and learned to
play. She is left handed but it wasn't long before she was hooked and began creating songs. She won a local talent show and was being
requested to perform around town.
After High school Dorene took a job as a receptionist. But she was restless and unfulfilled. She quit her job and joined a band. They
went on the road and Dorene began to make a name for herself playing in clubs and military bases across the Midwest. Later, She
formed her own band and played in Country Clubs, Casinos, Hotels, and over 300 nightclubs as well as a repeated performer at the
prestigious Kansas City Spirit Festival.
She wrote many of the songs that were used in her performances. She received the honor of having one of her songs chosen for a
Kansas City Songwriters Album. Though she enjoys a wide variety of artists and music, Patsy Cline and Judy Garland are two of her
primary inspirations. Dorene's formidable stage presence and remarkable voice has been impressing audiences for 15 years. With her
first album,"Dorene", she brings the essence of grit and grace to Country Music. Dorene remains in Kansas City and resides with her
three sons.
